Daily Care
Most days, your case needs nothing. When it picks up dust or fingerprints, wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth — an eyeglass cloth works perfectly. That's the entire routine.
If It Gets Wet
Blot immediately with a dry cloth — don't rub. Let it air-dry at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, heaters, and hair dryers. Heat is leather's real enemy: it dries the natural oils and causes stiffness and cracking. Once fully dry, the leather will recover its feel.
Minor Scratches
Light surface scratches on Dollaro grain often blend away when rubbed gently with a clean fingertip — the warmth and natural oils of your skin re-settle the grain. Deeper marks become part of the leather's story; they soften visually as the patina develops.
Conditioning
Once or twice a year, apply a small amount of neutral (colorless) leather cream with a soft cloth, in light circular motions, then buff. This keeps the leather supple. Always test on the back panel first. Do not use mink oil or heavy waxes — they darken pebble-grain leather unevenly.
What to Avoid
- Alcohol, sanitizing wipes, and solvent cleaners — they strip the finish
- Direct perfume or hairspray contact
- Prolonged direct sunlight (fading) and humid storage (mold)
- Prolonged pressure under heavy objects — the grain can imprint
Storage
When not in use, keep your case in its dust bag, in a ventilated space away from sunlight. Leave the snap closed to hold the silhouette.
About Patina
With months of carry, the leather will deepen slightly in tone where your hands touch it most, and the brass will warm. This patina is not wear — it's the record of the time you've spent together. An Aurekto case a year in is, in our view, more beautiful than one out of the box.
